Amitabh Baxi is the Head, Country Public Affairs, at Novartis India since October 2016 and is a member of the Novartis Pharmaceutical Executive Committee and India Corporate Executive Committee. Before joining Novartis, Amitabh served as Director of Government Affairs in Abbott India, and head of Government Affairs in GlaxoSmithkline India and Merck Sharpe and Dhome (MSD) India. Prior to joining the corporate sector, Amitabh worked as a journalist for about two decades writing on healthcare and pharmaceuticals issues. Amitabh Baxi holds the Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics (Honours) from University of Delhi in 1989 and Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree from Magadh University, Bihar, India.
