Dr Mahipal S Sachdev, Founder & Chairman, Centre for Sight

Dr. Mahipal S. Sachdev an Indian ophthalmologist ventured into the technique of Phacoemulsification for Cataract surgery in India. He initiated a Chain of Centre for Sight – CFS in Safdarjung Enclave. He pioneered Blade Free Femtocatarct technology. He installed Zyoptix (Bladeless LASIK) and introduced Phakic IOLs in India. He launched the Village Adoption Programme to prevent and treat avoidable blindness. He authored the first book on Phacoemulsification in India. The government of India conferred on him Padma Shri in 2007.
