Dr Saumitra Rawat, Chairman, Liver Transplant & Gastro Surgery, Sir Gangaram Hospital

Dr Saumitra Rawat is an Indian surgical gastroenterologist. He is the Head of Surgical Gastroenterology and Liver Transplant at Sir Ganga Ram Hospital, New Delhi.  He and his team are credited with introducing robotic and laparoscopic surgery for Gastrointestinal cancer in India.  He is the editor of the Indian edition of Diseases of the Colon and Rectum. Dr. Rawat is credited with the introduction of an enhanced recovery program for cancer Surgery in India. The government of India conferred on him Padma Shri in 2015.
